Hello Everyone,
On Friday, September 3, we will have our usual monthly dinner at 6:00 pm. Come and enjoy, with or without something to share.
The next scrip orders will be due on Sunday, September 5.
Greek class will meet again on Tuesday, September 7, in the afternoon.
The marriage of Martha Hotchkiss and Elizabeth Frost in Pilgrim, Michigan went off like clockwork on a beautiful day with the presence and support of both families. The local Congregational church provided a ladies luncheon for Martha and Elizabeth- their first for a same gender union. Martha and Elizabeth are taking a two week recovery period in Chiapias, Mexico (both are fluent Spanish speakers.)
There have been several recent resignations from the St. Anselm Board. Erica Kloppenburg will be pursing her education this fall in Colorado Springs. Keith Dunlap will remain in charge of buildings and grounds, but has resigned from attending board meetings for medical reasons. Marian Ely has deadlines to meet imposed by her publisher. She will remain involved in working on the La Verne Goman Library, and will have a reduced volunteer schedule in the office. Thanks to all of them for their service to the St. Anselm Board. We look forward to their continuing contact and participation in the St. Anselm community.
A returning volunteer, Sue Stultz, is helping to put the La Verne Goman Library catalogue online. St. Anselm is thankful for her generous, cheerful, and sardonic support. It is also nice to have another volunteer who likes classical music.
The linden trees have begun their annual shedding process. If you are willing to sweep the golden debris off the parking lot, let Fr. Jon know.
