Hello Everyone,
Greek class will meet on Tuesday, March 2.
There will be a student study night on Wednesday, March 3 from 7:00 to 11:00 pm at St. Anselm.
There will be a Friday night dinner on March 5 at 6:00 pm. Come and enjoy, with or without something to share.
Scrip orders will be ready for pick up on Sunday, March 7. The next order is due by Sunday, April 4.
Thanks to John Potter for a load of wood, which will keep the Canterbury House home fires burning though the rest of the winter, and for repairing the loose gutter.
The Board has decided that it is time to talk to Bishop-elect Michael Henley about St. Anselm's financial situation. The decision was unanimous, and a letter signed by the Board members has been sent inviting Fr. Michael to discuss with us both our financial situation and a number of possibilities for expanding St. Anselm's ministry with the diocese. A copy of the letter is available at St. Anselm on the front round table. If anyone wants to discuss the situation further, please see either Fr. Jon or one of the Board members: Jean Marie Walker, Steve Blevans, Paul Vecchi, Keith Dunlap, Erika Kloppenburg, Julia Shoesmith, Linda Kahlbaum, Marian Ely, Ron Wynn, or Pauline Morrison. Thanks to all the Board members for producing an excellent letter based on true consultation with each other.
While we are on the subject of documents, Fr. Jon has just completed the 2011 funding request to the diocese, and this document is also available on the front table for your examination. If anyone wants an e-mail copy of either of the above documents, e-mail Fr. Jon at jon@saintanselmoregon.org with your request and he will send you a copy.
It's been a long time since St. Anselm has received a systematic cleaning, and we would like to have one done before the bishop-elect comes to visit. If any person or persons would be willing to clean the upper floor, Fr. Jon would like to put together a small team of cleaners. If pushing a broom personally is not your thing, a Merry Maids cleaning costs about $150, and contributions toward that would be welcome.
