We welcome and invite your support of the ministry of Saint Anselm of Canterbury. As a campus ministry we receive some support from the Oregon Diocese and a small amount from the local Episcopal parish, but we must be largely self-supporting. During the last few years fixed expenses such as health insurance have increased, the local church has severely decreased its support, and several major donors, whose support totaled about $10,000 a year, have died. Attendance is up, the number of donors is up, but individual gifts are smaller.
Financial support for St. Anselm improved in 2006, when we successfully raised funds for a $25,000 matching grant from an anonymous donor. That provided $25,000 for the St. Anselm Endowment fund plus the $25,000 raised that went into the Operating Fund budget. This successful campaign shows the depth of support for St. Anselm Ministry and gives us hope for continuing to find the money we need to build a sound financial foundation for the program.
Pledges still remain our number-one source of financial support. We need approximately $95,000 to operate in 2007. We expect to receive $24,000 from the Diocese of Oregon and $2,400 from the Church of the Good Samaritan. That leaves $68,600 that must come from pledges and gifts. Anything you can contribute will be gratefully appreciated!
